From Big Pine Shoal to American Shoal Lighthouse, we’ll find a productive patch reef or perhaps troll along the barrier reef. This trip is usually dedicated to the south side of the Keys. Hawk Channel goes to about 45′ deep, then gradually rises to about 17′ once you get to spots on the barrier reef. We have an opportunity to catch some of the same fish as the backcountry with waters that get more and more blue. Cero mackerel, various snapper, red grouper, and yellow jack all make great table fare!
